Professor Steiner’s student awarded in Rackham competition

Professor Allison Steiner’s advisee, doctoral student Susan Cheng, received both a 2nd place and Audience Choice award in Rackham Graduate School’s 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition.

This research communication competition engaged students in training to develop the ability to explain their research in three minutes to non-specialist audiences.

This initiative was offered as part of Rackham’s Professional Development series aimed at improving students’ communication skills and was done in collaboration with the English Language Institute (ELI).

Cheng is earning a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and is co-advised by Professor Knute Nadelhoffer.
