NASA officials meet with AOSS students and SWE

NASA’s Director of the Office of Evaluation, Geoff Yoder, and Program Executive Christine Bonniksen visited AOSS on October 15.

Yoder and Bonniksen were officially visiting to meet with the CYGNSS team, but they made time to participate in two question and answer sessions with students.

The first was with MEng in Space Engineering students. The second was with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and GuSTO (the AOSS Grad and Undergrad Student Organization).

Yoder and Bonniksen answered questions ranging from “What does it take for an idea to become a successful NASA mission?” to “What is NASA doing to create more equality among men and women in STEM fields?”

Students also heard advice on how to prepare for a NASA career, and what the differences are between working in a space center and working at headquarters.
