Meteorologist Dennis Kahlbaum in MLive article on temperature

U-M Staff Meteorologist Dennis Kahlbaum is featured in a recent MLive.com article titled, “How cold is Ann Arbor? Taking the city's temperature is more complicated than it seems.”

“The journey to figuring out the correct representative temperature in Ann Arbor starts at 6:30 a.m. in a small field next to the Space Research Building on the University of Michigan's North Campus,” the article states.

At that field, Kahlbaum takes readings from two mercury thermometers.

"The current site is really ideal because it has wooden, urban and rural feel all at the same time," Kahlbaum told MLive.
