Professors Keppel-Aleks and Kort chosen for OCO-2 science team

NASA recently selected Assistant Professors Gretchen Keppel-Aleks and Eric Kort for the Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO-2) science team.

According to Scientific American, OCO-2 aims to measure atmospheric CO2 levels with enough precision to help pin down how human activities and natural systems are emitting and absorbing the greenhouse gas.

The 21 science team members come from the world's leading climate change and atmospheric science research groups, including UC Berkeley, Harvard, JPL and others. U-M is one of only three institutions that had two faculty members selected for the mission science team.
