Allison Hogikyan wins NOAA Hollings Scholarship

AOSS Student Allison Hogikyan recently received the NOAA Hollings Scholarship.

The Hollings Scholarship Program provides academic assistance for full-time study during the junior and senior academic years, plus a 10-week, full-time internship position during the summer at a NOAA facility.

The internship provides the Hollings Scholars with a “hands-on” training experience in NOAA-related science, research, technology, policy, management, and education activities. Awards also include travel funds to attend a NOAA Scholarship Program orientation, conferences where students present a paper or poster, and a housing subsidy for scholars who do not reside at home during the summer internship.

Hogikyan’s undergraduate research advisor in AOSS is Associate Professor Christiane Jablonowski.
