Welcome to the Daily Planet Online Spring 2015

The Spring 2015 issue of the Daily Planet is available on the web at http://aoss-research.engin.umich.edu/dailyplanet/2015/spring/. Welcome to new readers of the Daily Planet, which is full of information about the AOSS Community.

This issue features information on the new department name: Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering (Climate & Space or simply CLASP). The new name communicates the broad scope and depth of research, teaching and service in climate and space that is happening in the department.

This issue also highlights NRC reports on geoengineering, scientific results from the Rosetta mission and recent evidence for an underground ocean on Ganymede, Jupiter’s largest moon.

Other items include:

  • Dr. Parkinson part of new research team for life in space
  • One of the seven wonders of the modern world: WunderStation
  • Professor Nagy presented with Kaula Award at AGU
  • And more!

As always, this is the place to find out about awards, grants and community happenings, such as weddings and baby announcements.

If you have stories or pictures you’d like included in an upcoming issue of the Daily Planet, please send them to aossnews@umich.edu.

We continue to try to keep our database of email addresses up-to-date. To assist in this task, please send new or changed addresses as well as addresses of AOSS alumni and friends that aren’t receiving the Daily Planet to aossnews@umich.edu. Thank you.
