November 5 marks third day in a row with record heat in Ann Arbor

According to U-M Staff Meteorologist Dennis Kahlbaum, November 5 was the third day in a row to reach the highest temperature ever recorded for the region on that day.

Yesterday’s high temperature was 73 degrees, whereas the previous highest for November 5 had been 72 degrees in 1978.

“These multi-day record-setting periods are not unique, as warm air masses often keep temperatures elevated for extended periods,” states an MLive article that quoted Kahlbaum.
