Professor Gombosi elected to the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Tamas I. Gombosi

Tamas I. Gombosi, the Konstantin Gringauz Distinguished University Professor of Space Science and the Rollin M. Gerstacker Professor of Engineering, has been elected as an external member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS).

HAS accepts eminent Hungarian scholars who live outside of Hungary, and have outstanding achievements in their fields, as external members. External and honorary members are elected by their colleagues who are full or corresponding members of HAS.

The academy is a scholarly public body whose main task is the study of science, the publicizing of scientific achievements, and the aid and promotion of research.
