Associate Professor Steiner to receive diversity award

Climate & Space is very pleased to announce that faculty member Allison Steiner has been selected to receive a 2018‚Äč Harold R. Johnson Diversity Service Award. Department Chair Professor James Slavin called the award “outstanding” and offered his congratulations to Professor Steiner.

The award was established in 1996 in honor of the former Dean of the School of Social Work, Harold R. Johnson.  It recognizes University of Michigan faculty members on the Ann Arbor campus who have exhibited outstanding leadership in the area of cultural diversity. The recognition includes a $5,000 stipend that may be used to further diversity work.

The award notes that Professor Steiner’s “contributions to the multicultural mission of the University have been extensive and of extraordinary caliber."

The award will be presented at a recognition ceremony and dinner in early May at the Michigan League.

Congratulations, Professor Steiner!
